Abstract
The presence of pathogenic microorganisms, harmful volatile organic compounds, or suspended particulate matter in indoor air deteriorates its quality and impacts, among other things, health, work efficiency, and the speed of learning among indoor users. Considering that people spend 80 to 90% of their lives in enclosed spaces (homes, workplaces, and vehicles), ensuring acceptable air quality becomes essential. Therefore, effective methods for removing indoor air pollutants are being sought. One such method is the use of air cleaners. This article describes air cleaning techniques and discusses the most common myths regarding the use of these devices in the media.
