Cooperation with Authors

Authors are required to comply with publication ethics in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data manipulation, or failure to disclose conflicts of interest are not permitted. The use of AI is allowed solely for language editing to improve readability. The Editorial Board reserves the right to verify the originality of submissions using anti-plagiarism software (plagiat.pl).

Submission Format and Procedure

Articles are accepted exclusively in electronic form, in an editable file format (.doc, .docx, or .odt). The manuscript must be prepared in accordance with the current editorial template available on the Journal’s website (template – .docx version). All elements of the article (text, tables, figures, images, appendices) must be submitted as a single, complete package. PDF files are not accepted as the primary manuscript format.

Structure of the Article

The article should follow a logical and coherent structure consistent with scientific publishing standards:

  • Title (in Polish and English; concise, unambiguous, up to 150 characters including spaces)
  • Authors (full name, full academic or professional affiliation, ORCID, e-mail address of the corresponding author)
  • Abstract (in Polish and English, up to 250 words, including objective, methodology, key results, and conclusions)
  • Keywords (3–6 terms in both languages, enabling thematic indexing)

Main text, including:

  • Introduction (objective, literature review, justification of the topic)
  • Materials and Methods (description of research procedures, models, or analyses)
  • Results (concise presentation in descriptive, tabular, or graphical form)
  • Discussion (interpretation of results, comparison with literature)
  • Conclusions (concise summary of key findings and recommendations)
  • Acknowledgements (if applicable)
  • References

Length of the Manuscript

The standard length of a scientific article ranges from 20,000 to 40,000 characters including spaces, including tables and figures. Review articles may exceed this length subject to prior agreement with the Editorial Board.

Formatting and Technical Requirements

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt, line spacing 1.5
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
  • Text alignment: left-aligned; no hyphenation, manual line breaks, or formatting intended to force layout

Tables and figures should be placed within the text at the point of first reference or provided as attachments, with consecutively numbered captions (e.g., “Fig. 1.”, “Table 2.”).

Graphic materials must also be submitted as separate files. They should be legible, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi, in .jpg, .png, or .tiff formats. All figures and tables must have consecutively numbered captions in both Polish and English. Illustrations from external sources require permission from the copyright holder and proper source attribution. The Editorial Board reserves the right to edit, scale, or simplify graphic materials for publication purposes.

References and Citations

The Journal uses the author–date citation system in accordance with APA standards. In-text references should be provided in parentheses, including the author’s surname(s) and year of publication, e.g., (Kowalski, 2021) or (Nowak & Wiśniewski, 2019). Direct quotations must include the page number, e.g., (Kowalski, 2021, p. 45).

The reference list should be placed at the end of the article and arranged alphabetically by authors’ surnames. Each entry must include full bibliographic details in APA format: author names and initials, year (in parentheses), title of the work, source title (journal or book), volume, issue (if applicable), page range, and DOI or URL (if available).

Preference is given to peer-reviewed sources and materials of significant scientific, technical, or normative relevance.

Units, Symbols, and Terminology

The SI system of units is required. Where justified, non-SI units may be provided in parentheses. Symbols, indices, and physical quantities must comply with applicable standards. Trade names of products or devices should be used only when justified and must include information about the manufacturer.

Declarations and Completeness of Submission

For each submission, the corresponding author must include a completed article submission form available on the Journal’s website (form – .docx and .pdf versions). The Editorial Board may reject submissions that do not meet formal or ethical requirements.

Language Versions

The Journal accepts articles in Polish or English. Polish-language articles must include the title, abstract, keywords, and captions for figures and tables in English. Authors submitting articles in English are required to ensure language editing by a native speaker or a professional translator.

Submission Process

  1. Articles should be submitted via the editorial submission system (e-mail: redakcja (at) cieplownictwoogrzewnictwowentylacja.pl), together with the completed submission form.
  2. Upon receipt, the Editorial Board performs an initial formal assessment (compliance with the Journal’s scope and completeness of the submission). Non-compliant manuscripts may be returned without review.
  3. Accepted manuscripts undergo a review process (external or internal). Following review, the author receives a decision: acceptance, acceptance with revisions, or rejection.
  4. If revisions are required, the author must submit a revised version within the specified timeframe. Failure to respond within the deadline may result in rejection.
  5. After acceptance, the author is informed about the planned publication date. The final version may be provided for approval prior to publication.
