Publication Ethics

Authors are required to adhere to publication ethics in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data manipulation, and failure to disclose conflicts of interest are unacceptable. The use of AI is permitted solely for language editing to improve readability. The Editorial Office reserves the right to verify the originality of submitted texts using anti-plagiarism software (plagiat.pl).

Submission Format and Procedure

Manuscripts are accepted exclusively in electronic form, in an editable file format (.doc, .docx, or .odt). The text must be prepared in accordance with the current editorial template available on the journal’s website (template – docx version).

All elements of the article (text, tables, figures, images, attachments) must be submitted as one complete package. PDF files are not accepted as the primary manuscript format.

Article Structure

The manuscript should follow a logical and coherent structure consistent with scientific publishing standards:

  • Title (in Polish and English; concise, unambiguous, up to 150 characters including spaces)
  • Authors (first name, last name, full scientific or professional affiliation, ORCID, corresponding author’s e-mail address)
  • Abstract (in Polish and English, up to 250 words, including objective, methodology, key results, and conclusions)
  • Keywords (3–6 terms in both languages enabling thematic indexing)

Main text, including:

  • Introduction (aim, literature review, justification of the topic)
  • Materials and Methods (description of research procedures, models, or analyses)
  • Results (concise presentation in descriptive, tabular, or graphical form)
  • Discussion (interpretation of results, comparison with literature)
  • Conclusions (summary of key findings and recommendations)
  • Acknowledgements (if applicable)
  • References

Length of the Manuscript

The standard length of a scientific article is between 20,000 and 40,000 characters (including spaces), including tables and figures. Review articles may exceed this length upon prior agreement with the Editorial Office.

Formatting Requirements

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
  • Line spacing: 1.5
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
  • Text aligned to the left, without hyphenation or manual line breaks

Tables and figures should be placed within the text at their first reference or included as attachments, with consecutively numbered captions (e.g., “Fig. 1”, “Table 2”).

Figures and Graphics

Graphic materials must also be submitted as separate files attached to the manuscript. Files must be clear, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi, in .jpg, .png, or .tiff formats.

All figures and tables must have consecutively numbered captions provided in both Polish and English. Illustrations from external sources require permission from the copyright holder and proper source attribution.

The Editorial Office reserves the right to edit, scale, or simplify graphical materials for publication purposes.

References and Citation Style

The journal uses the author–date citation system in accordance with the APA standard.

In-text citations should be provided in parentheses, including the author’s name and year of publication, e.g., (Kowalski, 2021) or (Nowak & Wiśniewski, 2019). For direct quotations, the page number must also be indicated, e.g., (Kowalski, 2021, p. 45).

The reference list should be placed at the end of the article and arranged alphabetically by authors’ surnames. Each entry must include complete APA-compliant data: authors’ names and initials, year (in parentheses), title, source (journal or book), volume, issue (if applicable), page range, and DOI or URL (if available).

Citations of peer-reviewed literature and sources of significant scientific, technical, or normative relevance are preferred.

Units, Symbols, and Terminology

The SI system of units is required. In justified cases, non-SI units may be provided in parentheses. Symbols and notations of physical quantities must comply with applicable standards.

Trade names of products or devices should be used only when necessary and must include information about the manufacturer.

Declarations and Completeness of Submission

The corresponding author is required to submit a completed article submission form (available on the website in .docx and .pdf formats).

The Editorial Office may reject submissions that do not meet formal or ethical requirements.

Language Versions

The journal accepts articles in Polish or English.

Polish-language articles must include the title, abstract, keywords, and figure/table captions in English.

Authors submitting articles in English are required to ensure professional language editing by a native speaker or a specialized translator.

Submission Process

  1. Manuscripts should be submitted via the editorial submission system (e-mail: redakcja@cieplownictwoogrzewnictwowentylacja.pl) together with a completed submission form.
  2. Upon receipt, the Editorial Office conducts an initial formal assessment (scope compliance, completeness). Non-compliant submissions may be rejected without review.
  3. Qualified manuscripts undergo a peer review process (external or internal). Authors receive a decision: accepted, accepted with revisions, or rejected.
  4. If revisions are required, authors must submit a revised version within the specified deadline. Failure to respond may result in rejection.
  5. After acceptance, the author is informed about the planned publication date. The final version may be provided for approval prior to publication.
